{"id":13603,"date":"2015-08-09T23:00:08","date_gmt":"2015-08-09T14:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shasegawa.com\/?p=13603"},"modified":"2015-08-11T19:12:37","modified_gmt":"2015-08-11T10:12:37","slug":"mr-akashi-speaks-to-best-and-brightest-jck-forum-students-9th-july-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shasegawa.com\/ja\/archives\/13603","title":{"rendered":"Mr. Akashi speaks to \u2018Best and Brightest\u2019 JCK Forum Students (9th July 2015)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u3000On 7 July, Mr. Yasushi Akashi, Vice President of the UN Association of Japan spoke for one hour to a group of \u2018best and brightest\u2019 students who will participate in the JCK youth forum symposium to be held in Gyeongju, South Korea in September 2015.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shasegawa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/150707_02.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[13603]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shasegawa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/150707_02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13605\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.shasegawa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/150707_02.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.shasegawa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/150707_02-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/center><br \/>\n<br clear=\"all\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u3000On the second day of the JCK student workshop held at the Olympic Memorial Youth Center in Yoyogi, Tokyo, Mr. Yasushi Akashi addressed a variety of issues on international peace and security based on his extensive knowledge and working experience in the UN and the Government of Japan that included his assignments as Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Disarmament and Public Information as well as the UN Secretary-General&#8217;s Special Representative for the former Yugoslavia and the Representative of the Government of Japan for Sri Lanka.
