Prime Minister Abe took note of progress made in the Dili ferry terminal reconstruction and an agreement reached on the visit of a Japanese naval vessel to Timor-Leste.<\/p>\n

\u3000Prime Minister Shinzo Abe indicated Japan`s support for Timor-Leste`s ASEAN membership and for the development of Timorese human resources. Minister Gusm\u00e3o noted the valuable role played by JICA in bridging the two nations and welcomed Japanese private investment. Prime Minister Abe and Minister Gusm\u00e3o agreed to the importance of peaceful resolution of maritime disputes by international law.<\/p>\n
