I feel that democracy is under threat not only in Japan but throughout the world. Liberal ideals are under attack, and it has become extremely difficult to foster cooperation and mutual assistance. Precisely for that reason, Japan must continue to make contributions and undertake initiatives that accord with the comments we have heard from you today. We intend to stand united—across party lines—and give our utmost. I ask for your continuing advice and support.
