Dr. Sukehiro Hasegawa, Director of the Hasegawa Institute for Peacebuilding and also President of the Global Peacebuilding Association of Japan (GPAJ), has been conferred the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, in the 2025 Spring Honors. The award follows the 2024 honor given to Ambassador Tadamichi Yamamoto, Vice President of GPAJ, and together they symbolize Japan’s continued excellence in international service and peacebuilding.
Board Member Ken Inoue remarked that Ambassador Yamamoto’s distinguished diplomatic record and Dr. Hasegawa’s long-standing leadership as UN Special Representative and UNDP Resident Representative both embody a lifetime of dedication to the international community.
