The subject matters dealt with by Professor Hasegawa included the lessons learned from the Kibeho Rwanda massacre of 1995 and the need for more integrated approach in UN peacekeeping and peacebuilding missions. He also explained the new UN system wide move to “Delivering-As-One” which envisaged the establishment of one leader, one office, one budget and one programme. Professor Hasegawa also made power-point presentations on the roles and responsibilities of UN leaders in the field.
